Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Blend is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and develop scalable, high‑performance services that power its AI‑driven solutions for private investment banking clients. You will work hands‑on with C#, SQL and AWS to build cloud‑native applications while modernising critical business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using C# and SQL, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Design robust software architectures, evaluate technical trade‑offs and document design decisions.
• Build, deploy and optimise cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Execute complex data migrations and transformations across multiple systems.
• Rebuild and enhance integrations with internal and external platforms.
• Contribute to reporting and analytics solutions leveraging Snowflake.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Promote a collaborative engineering culture and stay current with industry best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in C# for backend development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including database design and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and cloud‑based architectures.
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Knowledge of Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
• Experience with data migrations, system integrations and reporting solutions.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex technical challenges and communicate decisions clearly.
