Senior SDET – Playwright Automation Engineer

About the role

Sparq is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript. You will work on API, UI, and data validation while leveraging AI‑assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable end‑to‑end automation frameworks with Playwright, TypeScript, page‑object models, and reusable fixtures.
• Develop automated tests for REST and GraphQL APIs using Postman and validate service‑level responses.
• Perform backend and data‑integrity validation through SQL queries and database‑level testing.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Diagnose and resolve flaky tests, distinguishing application defects from framework or environment issues.
• Maintain test cases and execution results in TestRail, aligning automated coverage with test plans and release criteria.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and Agile team members throughout sprint planning, Scrum ceremonies, defect resolution, and UAT cycles.
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate coding while reviewing and validating generated code.

Required profile
