Senior Android Engineer – Remote Contractor

About the role

Compass is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join its fast‑growing real‑estate technology team. Working remotely from Uruguay, you will help build and evolve a cloud‑based platform that makes buying and selling homes simple and enjoyable.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Android applications that power Compass’s end‑to‑end real‑estate platform.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to define technical solutions and drive engineering‑led initiatives.
• Evaluate trade‑offs, make pragmatic decisions, and ensure operational excellence throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and supporting their technical and career growth.
• Provide ongoing engineering insight to improve existing services and products after launch.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Android engineer, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong ability to break down complex requirements into manageable tasks for a small, autonomous team.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset in a startup‑like environment.
