Data Center Technician – Uruguay Citizens Only

About the role

Google’s Hardware Operations team is looking for a Data Center Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain cutting‑edge server hardware and software in a high‑performance data‑center environment. The role is onsite, physically demanding, and requires fluent English communication with regional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test servers, racks, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware at the component level.
• Maintain Linux‑based server software and operating systems.
• Configure networking equipment such as routers, switches, hubs, and bridges.
• Participate in or lead small project teams for larger installations and develop contingency plans.
• Perform manual movement and installation of racks, including lifting up to 50 lb.

Required profile

• Uruguay citizenship (per Labor Law 15.921, article 18).
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb and sustain physical activity over extended periods.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
