Staff Product Engineer

About the role

LawnStarter is looking for a Staff Product Engineer to lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑impact initiatives on its on‑demand marketplace platform. You will work closely with a product manager, designer, and engineering peers to shape problems, define technical solutions, and ship production‑ready code.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical approach for initiatives, including architecture, data modeling, integration, rollout, observability, and rollback strategies.
• Direct AI coding agents to generate most of the implementation while ensuring safety, correctness, and quality.
• Write hand‑crafted code for sensitive areas where human expertise is required.
• Collaborate daily with product and design partners to align scope, trade‑offs, and UX decisions.
• Monitor post‑launch metrics and iterate on solutions to achieve measurable impact.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ownership of product initiatives from concept through production.
• Ability to make technical decisions independently and present significant architectural choices for review.
• Comfort working in a shared codebase with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong product sense to balance engineering trade‑offs with business outcomes.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools or agents.
• Solid foundation in software architecture and system design.
