Software Development Engineer in Test I (SDET I) – Pro

About the role

Join the Kraken Pro team to help ensure the reliability and performance of a world‑class crypto trading platform. As an SDET I you will work closely with product engineers to embed quality into backend services, APIs and trading workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated tests for backend APIs, integrations and trading engines.
• Contribute to automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and quality‑engineering tooling.
• Review code changes, flag testability risks and investigate test failures.
• Perform exploratory testing on edge cases and production incidents.
• Validate services throughout development and release cycles, leveraging AI‑assisted tools.

Required profile

• Strong programming fundamentals with experience in Python, Rust or C++.
• Hands‑on experience testing backend systems and APIs (REST, WebSocket, gRPC, FIX).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerised environments (Docker) and automation frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and other SDETs to improve testing practices.
