Software Alliances Director, Americas

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Software Alliances Director for the Americas to lead collaborations with leading software companies. You will shape joint product roadmaps, drive delivery, and create go‑to‑market strategies that integrate Ubuntu and other Canonical solutions into partner offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Define account strategy for major accounts, regions, and verticals.
• Collaborate with partner product, engineering, alliance, and marketing teams to align on open‑source strategies.
• Capture partner requirements, evaluate gaps, and identify Canonical opportunities.
• Coordinate messaging, content creation, and launch plans with internal teams.
• Produce partner‑ and customer‑facing materials such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations, videos, and white papers.
• Drive Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts and enable partner teams through training.
• Influence partners to build solutions using Canonical technology.
• Travel up to 25% of the time, including international trips for conferences and partnership development.

Required profile

• Proven cross‑functional leadership and influence.
• Exceptional academic record or a compelling alternative career path.
• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in business development, product management, or related roles.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders from individual contributors to the C‑suite.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
• Self‑motivated and disciplined in a remote‑first environment.
