Senior Accountant for US & Canadian Clients (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of North American clients. This long‑term contractor position is fully remote and focuses on overseeing accounting and financial reporting for multiple small‑business and startup accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting and financial reporting across several client accounts.
• Review and oversee bookkeepers’ work, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Delegate transactional accounting tasks and provide guidance as needed.
• Handle general ledger activities, month‑end close, and bank/credit‑card reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, investigate accounting issues, and support clean‑up projects.
• Prepare documentation for external CPAs and tax professionals.
• Support payroll‑related accounting and maintain internal financial reporting.
• Review AI‑driven accounting workflows to ensure accurate outputs and adapt processes as new technologies are introduced.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior accountant working with U.S. or Canadian entities.
• Comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Experience in startup or small‑business environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
