Performance Test Engineer (LATAM, English Required)

About the role

DaCodes, a software and digital transformation firm with nearly 300 people working with clients across LATAM and the United States, is hiring a Performance Test Engineer to join a performance engineering team supporting American Eagle, a global retail brand. The engineer designs and runs performance, load, stress and stability tests, works closely with development teams to validate system behaviour under production-like conditions, and drives continuous improvement in performance, capacity, reliability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with development teams to design accurate performance test models and production-like load scenarios.
• Execute and analyse load, stress and stability tests to validate performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot issues with developers and engineers, support defect resolution and verify performance fixes.
• Guide improvements to application performance, capacity, reliability and scalability.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Own the performance engineering lifecycle, define key metrics and drive continuous improvements.
• Recommend improvements to performance testing processes, tools and execution practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner Cloud, JMeter, BlazeMeter, NeoLoad or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with chaos engineering tools and practices such as Chaos Monkey or Chaos Mesh.
• Strong understanding of Java and Spring Boot performance tuning, including thread dump and heap analysis.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Ability to automate performance engineering tasks, including shift-left testing and report generation, using AI-assisted workflows.
• Advanced English; retail industry experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Kubernetes and Docker.
• Dashboards and monitoring with Grafana, Splunk or New Relic.
• Scripting in C, C++, Java or JavaScript.
• CI/CD automation with Bitbucket, Bamboo, Git, Ansible or similar.
• Service virtualization tools such as BlazeMeter or OpenText Service Virtualization.
• Complex SQL and NoSQL queries.
