Part-time Security and Compliance Engineer (2-3 month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Security and Compliance Engineer to join a client’s team for a 2‑3 month engagement. This remote position works closely with designers and engineers to ensure security and compliance standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate with the client’s development team and collaborate on daily tasks.
• Develop, implement, and document security controls for SOC 2 compliance.
• Audit existing systems, identify security gaps, and create transition plans.
• Design security frameworks and produce technical documentation for audit readiness.
• Lead policy creation, evidence gathering, and the “heavy lifting” phases of security certifications.
• Maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines for secure application deployment.
• Document systems, processes, and workflows to support scalability and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure management.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Extensive experience with SOC 2 compliance and security controls for software‑focused businesses.
• Strong background in auditing systems and defining remediation plans.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and data integrity requirements.
• Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams and large, complex systems.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week and take extreme ownership of deliverables.
