Network Security Engineer

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to support a global client. The role will focus on strengthening infrastructure security and contributing to the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC).

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen infrastructure security and actively support CSOC operations.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
• Develop monitoring use cases, operational procedures, playbooks, and technical documentation.
• Design, develop, and implement security controls to protect network boundaries and sensitive data.
• Harden systems and network devices to improve overall security posture.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Cybersecurity Architecture and cross‑functional teams to implement security solutions.
• Protect network traffic with a focus on perimeter security and API security.

Required profile

• 6–9 years of hands‑on experience in network and cyber security.
• Strong expertise with WAF, firewalls, F5 and Imperva solutions.
• Solid knowledge of network protocols, cryptography, operating systems and security tools.
• Understanding of common threats such as DDoS, credential stuffing and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
• Experience with incident monitoring and response processes.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills to address complex security challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global, cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with SIEM tools, particularly Splunk.
• Familiarity with API security solutions (e.g., SALT API).
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, ServiceNow and digital identity concepts.
• Scripting skills in Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CISSP or SANS.
