Manager, People Analytics

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Manager, People Analytics to lead its Workplace Engineering squad. This remote position sits at the intersection of HR analytics and product engineering, turning raw workforce data into actionable People Products that drive performance across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary squad of People Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and UX Designers.
• Own People Science product development, translating HR concepts into technical specifications for engineers.
• Deliver predictive and prescriptive insights, moving beyond descriptive metrics such as turnover rates.
• Act as the chief translator, turning complex data models into compelling narratives and real‑time AI‑driven insights for managers.
• Ensure the People Data Stack is secure, GDPR‑compliant, and serves as a single source of truth for all People‑related offerings.
• Identify high‑tech solutions that free up time for high‑touch human interaction, maximizing human value.

Required profile

• Background in data science, mathematics, or engineering.
• Strong expertise in advanced statistics, data wrangling, and database management.
• Proven ability to translate business questions into research objectives and to synthesize findings.
• Experience leading product‑focused data teams and delivering strategic business outcomes.
