Lead HR Generalist – Americas

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Lead HR Generalist to support its Americas region. This senior position will help shape a global HR function, delivering precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations while partnering with regional leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely HR operations across the employee life‑cycle.
• Collaborate with the Americas HR Manager and Global Head of HR to drive regional and global initiatives.
• Own processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement programs.
• Partner with managers on performance management, organizational design, rewards, and workforce planning.
• Work with the HRIS team to refine day‑to‑day HR administration.
• Coach people managers on employee‑relations matters across multiple countries.
• Support training and development delivery.
• Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and design new HR policies.

Required profile

• Strong academic record from high school through university.
• HR experience leading regional initiatives in a technology business.
• Regional HR experience in Latin America (Brazil or Mexico) is a plus, with knowledge of local labor laws.
• Proven business‑partnering skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.
