Lead Data Engineer & Architect (Snowflake & GCP)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer & Architect to design, build, and optimise a regional data platform that powers credit‑risk analytics, device financing and real‑time operations across eight Latin‑American countries. The role combines deep technical execution with strategic governance of multi‑country cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end architecture and continuous improvement of a multi‑country data platform on Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform.
• Design and maintain scalable ingestion pipelines using GCP Cloud SQL, Datastream CDC, Cloud Storage and Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks.
• Implement a semantic layer and data models (star schema, medallion architecture) with dbt.
• Establish DataOps practices, managing database objects and deployments via Snowflake DCM Projects integrated with GitHub CI/CD.
• Define and enforce data governance, RBAC, dynamic data masking and row‑level security to comply with local PII regulations.
• Provide FinOps leadership to optimise cloud spend and cost transparency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience, preferably in a fintech or financial services context.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with product, risk, engineering and BI stakeholders.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
