Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests aboard the vessel. You will actively listen to guest concerns, offer assistance, and help resolve issues to ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout their stay.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to guest inquiries and provide timely assistance.
• Handle cash transactions and manage US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to resolve problems.
• Maintain accurate records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a 5‑6 month contract.
• Clear spoken and written English; ability to read and interpret procedures.
• Sense of humor and strong guest‑satisfaction disposition.

Required skills

• Cash handling and knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
• Operation of telephone, computer, and copy‑machine equipment.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Additional language proficiency (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish).
