Freelance Chatbot Developer (WhatsApp / Telegram / Discord)

About the role

Mindrift is seeking an experienced freelance chatbot developer to join the Tendem project. You will design, build, and maintain conversational bots for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and similar platforms, working within a hybrid AI‑plus‑human environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop bots using WhatsApp Business API / Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord API, and other messaging platforms.
• Design conversational flows, manage dialogue state, and implement fallback handling.
• Integrate bots with large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs, and third‑party APIs such as booking or payment systems.
• Handle webhooks, rate limits, and platform‑specific message formats (interactive messages, buttons, media, templates).
• Evaluate and refactor AI‑generated code to ensure reliability, error handling, and production readiness.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms to keep bots healthy in production.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation, or bot development.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience designing production‑ready conversational workflows.
