Elixir Backend Engineer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

FullStackFullStack is looking for an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join its talent network and work on remote, project‑based assignments for U.S. clients. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and other engineers to deliver high‑quality backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Build and support backend services that power mobile applications (React Native).
• Integrate third‑party APIs and ensure reliable software connectivity.
• Work with legacy codebases, improving reliability and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
• Utilize containerization tools such as Docker and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools and remote environments like GitHub Codespaces.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Strong background in relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, Ecto).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum teams and large, complex systems.
