Data Center Technician I – English

About the role

Google’s Hardware Operations team is looking for a Data Center Technician I to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain server hardware and related networking components. The role is based in Uruguay and requires physical work in state‑of‑the‑art data center facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and test servers, racks, routers, switches, hubs and bridges.
• Perform component‑level repairs and troubleshooting on servers and networking equipment.
• Execute manual movement and installation of racks, including lifting up to 50 lb.
• Follow verbal and written instructions to complete routine and project‑based tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges and support client relationships.

Required profile

• Uruguayan citizenship (required by local labor law).
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Minimum experience repairing and troubleshooting technical equipment.
• Preferred: at least 1 year diagnosing operating systems, server hardware or networking protocols.
