Assistant Housekeeping Manager (Cruise Ship)

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Director in overseeing the daily cleaning and maintenance of staterooms, public areas, and open decks on a Celebrity Cruises vessel. The role ensures that all housekeeping activities meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and supervise day‑to‑day housekeeping operations across staterooms, public spaces, and decks.
• Direct, coach, and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff in partnership with the Housekeeping Director.
• Assign duties, workstations, and manage overtime requests for final approval.
• Conduct daily staff briefings to communicate itinerary changes, weather impacts, and guest requirements.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, ensuring resolution to their satisfaction.
• Perform ten stateroom inspections each day and additional checks during embarkation.
• Maintain sanitation, SQM, and safety logs in line with ISM/ISO, USPH, and environmental policies.
• Oversee inventory of linen, amenities, and supplies; manage requisitions and cost‑containment initiatives.
• Inspect workstations and lockers regularly to prevent waste and deterioration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housekeeping supervision, preferably on a cruise ship or hotel.
• Strong knowledge of safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and guest‑service orientation.
