Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Consultant

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking a proactive, client‑centric consultant to design, develop, and implement AI‑enabled digital solutions that support the strategic priorities of its Latin America and Caribbean clients. You will join the Technology and Transformation for the Region (TTR) team, working closely with operational units, government partners, and public institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate operational needs into AI‑driven digital solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Assess technical fit and ensure solutions are sustainable and adoptable within institutional contexts.
• Guide the integration, testing, and rollout of AI services, monitoring performance and impact.
• Provide independent technical judgment, including recommending alternatives when evidence does not support a proposed AI approach.
• Collaborate with sector teams to tailor digital transformation processes to each country’s specific challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI solution design and digital transformation consulting.
• Strong client‑orientation with the ability to work across multicultural, public‑sector environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of making evidence‑based recommendations.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
