Senior Controller – Consumer Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. The role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strategic partnership with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle and manage month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Drive AI‑based and automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑industry clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
• Oversee accounting operations across the consumer portfolio, ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on Controller or senior accounting leadership roles.
• Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail or related sectors).
• Proven track record implementing accounting automations or AI‑driven process improvements.
• Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
• CPA designation preferred and demonstrated ERP proficiency.
