Dietary Aide – Full Time

About the role

The Dietary Aide supports the kitchen team by preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food‑service equipment operates safely. Reporting to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor, the role is essential for smooth daily operations in a fast‑paced food environment.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and follow food‑service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
• Strip down returned trays, operate and monitor the dishwasher, and record chlorine concentration and water temperature.
• Prepare snacks and simple nourishments.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors and work surfaces.
• Handle trash, garbage, and store groceries in an orderly manner.
• Clean refrigerators and other equipment.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Basic mathematical skills (fractions, percentages, ratios).
• Problem‑solving ability and capacity to interpret written or oral instructions.
• Must obtain and maintain a food‑handler’s certificate.
