Compliance Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Port24 is seeking a remote Compliance Specialist to ensure that all driver, vehicle, and operational activities meet federal, state, and local regulations. You will act as the primary guardian of safety and regulatory standards across our drayage and trucking services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end driver onboarding, verifying qualifications, background checks, and safety documentation.
• Monitor and audit Hours of Service (HOS) logs, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), and trip reports for compliance.
• Oversee application, renewal, and tracking of permits, truck registrations, and licenses.
• Track, interpret, and implement relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct internal compliance assessments, document corrective actions, and close operational gaps.
• Collaborate with operations and technology teams to align dispatch processes and software tools with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain precise compliance records, prepare health reports for leadership, and manage driver files.
• Assist in developing and delivering internal training on compliance topics and support audits or regulatory inquiries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, safety, or fleet management within trucking, drayage, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, HOS rules, and trucking permits.
• Analytical ability to review data, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently in a fully remote environment.
