Senior Backend AI Engineer

About the role

Coderio is looking for an autonomous Senior Backend AI Engineer to own and evolve the core backend and AI framework of its platform. You will work in an agile pod alongside a Product Owner and senior engineers, delivering high‑performance services that power live AI products for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor, maintain, and scale backend and AI framework layers, reducing technical debt for multi‑tenant growth.
• Implement production LLM observability, focusing on token‑cost optimization, retrieval‑strategy tuning, and real‑time model/data drift detection.
• Build automated prompt versioning, A/B testing pipelines, and evaluation frameworks to ensure consistent response quality.
• Develop next‑generation copilot services and agentic workflows for structured communications (emails, texts, call scripts).
• Deliver reliable Python backend services, integrations, and APIs that interact with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone) and LLM providers.
• Drive features from concept to production within client cloud environments while maintaining code quality and operational standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend systems.
• 3+ years of production‑level Python engineering.
• 2+ years building and maintaining Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems in live environments.
• 1+ years experience with LLM observability and tracing tools (e.g., LangFuse, LangSmith).
• Proven ability to take end‑to‑end ownership of deliverables and operate independently.
• Fluent English for daily collaboration with US‑based teams.
