Administrative & Finance Associate (G‑6) – Montevideo

About the role

The Administrative & Finance Associate (G‑6) supports the UNICEF Uruguay Country Office by ensuring that specialised administrative and financial processes run smoothly and comply with UNICEF policies. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role works closely with programme, fundraising, operations and external‑relations teams as well as regional and global service centres.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor specialised administrative procedures in line with UNICEF rules, delegated authorities and office SOPs.
• Provide quality‑assurance, budget monitoring and financial oversight for the country office.
• Process payments, invoices and vendor contracts while maintaining accurate records.
• Support office administration, including procurement, contracting and vendor management.
• Identify and resolve process issues, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and client‑oriented services.

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of UNICEF financial rules, procedures, systems and internal controls.
• Experience working with programme, fundraising, operations and external‑relations stakeholders.
• Ability to provide reliable operational guidance and support compliance and accountability initiatives.
