Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support its restaurant‑focused clients. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, handling daily bookkeeping, sales reconciliation, and financial reporting for hospitality businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and categorize all financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) on a daily basis.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and delivery‑app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, manage accounts payable, and ensure timely payments.
• Track restaurant‑specific metrics such as food & beverage COGS and labor costs.
• Perform month‑end bank and credit‑card reconciliations and generate basic P&L statements for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency.
• Experience integrating QBO with restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square).
