PostgreSQL Database Engineer

About the role

Altenar, an international IT company specializing in high‑load software for the iGaming industry, is looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Engineer/DBA to join its B2B betting team. The role involves close collaboration with various technical teams to design, implement and support reliable, scalable database solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Optimize performance through query optimization, indexing and tuning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues using tools such as Prometheus and Zabbix.
• Work with developers to align database design with application requirements.
• Manage security, backup and recovery procedures.
• Support highly‑available systems in a growing workload environment.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in RDBMS administration.
• Hands‑on experience with Ansible or Terraform for cluster deployment.
• Experience supporting high‑load systems and configuring PostgreSQL for performance.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication in English (B2+).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
