Senior Data Engineer – Databricks Expertise

About the role

At SunnyData our mission is to help customers on their data journey, building highly scalable architectures, robust pipelines, and accurate AI/ML applications. As a Senior Data Engineer with Databricks experience you will design, build and deploy data solutions that enable AI, machine learning and business intelligence insights for both internal teams and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support new and existing customers with their data engineering needs across multiple accounts.
• Guide customers in making optimal technical decisions and track progress.
• Design, build and operationalize complex data solutions, including transformations and data quality improvements.
• Analyze data sources, recommend inclusion in analytical processes, and ensure data governance, security and quality.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver data products, educate end‑users, and resolve moderate‑complexity defects.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering and product development experience.
• 3+ years in a consulting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Databricks platform, including legacy‑to‑Databricks migrations.
• Hands‑on experience with DAB, clustering techniques and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with Azure, AWS or GCP cloud services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced SQL and PySpark programming skills.
• Familiarity with Databricks Genie, Databricks Apps and GenAI is a plus.
