Analytics Engineer – dbt & AWS Data Platform

About the role

Blend is looking for an Analytics Engineer to help scale its data platform across multiple domains. You will work closely with the Onshore Analytics Engineering Lead to build, test, and maintain robust dbt pipelines that power data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the curated data model layer in dbt across 18 data domains.
• Design and build dbt models for staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
• Create comprehensive dbt testing strategies (unique, not_null, accepted_values, relationships, custom tests).
• Develop and optimise incremental models to process billions of events efficiently.
• Document models thoroughly, including column descriptions and lineage graphs.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with dbt, including macros and incremental strategies.
• Expert‑level SQL skills for large‑scale datasets.
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling and layered architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS data services, especially Athena and Redshift Serverless.
• Working knowledge of Python for data‑engineering tasks.
• Excellent English communication skills.
