Fullstack PHP Developer (Magento 2 & WordPress) – Remote

About the role

Bluelight is looking for a versatile Full Stack Developer specialized in Magento 2 and WordPress to take full technical ownership of client digital ecosystems. The role is fully remote and focuses on maintaining high‑performance e‑commerce platforms while integrating agile content management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure stability and performance of existing Magento 2 instances.
• Manage WordPress integrations, custom themes, and plugins.
• Audit, inherit, and optimise legacy codebases, documenting technical debt.
• Design and execute seamless deployment pipelines from staging to production.
• Integrate Magento and WordPress with external ERPs, CRMs, and marketing tools via REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Monitor and tune MySQL queries, caching layers (Redis, Varnish) and search (Elasticsearch).
• Maintain Linux‑based server environments (Nginx/Apache) and enforce security best practices.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Magento 2.x architecture and WordPress custom development.
• Proven ability to work with legacy code and reduce technical debt.
• Strong knowledge of modern PHP (8.x), OOP, Composer and PSR standards.
• Experience with frontend stacks such as HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), JavaScript, Knockout.js and RequireJS.
• Solid understanding of DevOps workflows, Git version control and Linux server administration.
• Security‑first mindset, including PCI compliance and platform hardening.
