Technical Business Analyst (Fintech)
Plan A Technologies · Département Montevideo
Job description
About the role
Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to partner with engineering, program and risk/compliance teams and turn complex business, regulatory and operational requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements. The role sits within the program management team and ensures solutions are well defined, compliant, testable and ready for delivery in an Agile environment. At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical BA is required.
Key responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze and document business and technical requirements for fintech systems such as data platforms, integrations and risk tools, including user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, data mappings and business rules, and acceptance criteria aligned with regulatory and operational needs.
- Support Agile delivery: own story readiness for sprint planning, help refine the backlog, break down epics into executable stories, and take part in grooming, planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Analyze APIs, data flows and system integrations; support data migration, transformation and validation; create data mapping documents, interface specifications and process flows and sequence diagrams.
- Work with QA so test coverage matches requirements, and ensure requirements meet regulatory obligations, internal risk and control frameworks and audit standards.
- Identify risks, assumptions and dependencies, and support documentation for audits, exams and go-live approvals.
- Bridge engineering, program, risk and compliance and operations, facilitate workshops and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical BA.
- Strong experience working with development teams in Agile/Scrum, and with financial services and lending platforms.
- Proven ability to write clear, unambiguous requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with fintech or regulated environments, and excellent written and spoken English.
- Preferred: experience in financial services, fintech or banking; exposure to data migrations, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Salesforce; experience supporting regulatory or audit initiatives; SQL or data querying skills.
Required skills
- APIs, integrations, data analysis and mapping, SDLC and Agile delivery.
- Preferred: Jira / Confluence, Lucidchart, SQL or reporting tools.
What we offer
- Work from home 100% of the time, or come into one of the global offices.
- A generous vacation schedule and other benefits.
