AI/ML Team Lead

About the role

An experienced AI/ML Team Lead is sought to guide a team building high-impact machine learning and AI systems. The role involves leading and growing a team of ML engineers, setting technical direction and ensuring solutions work in production, while staying hands-on with the technical work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of 6-8 ML engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth.
• Define technical direction and priorities for ML and AI initiatives, balancing quality, speed and business impact.
• Guide the design and delivery of ML and AI systems, from training and experimentation to deployment and monitoring in production.
• Review technical decisions, architectures and code to ensure high quality and best engineering practices.
• Act as a bridge between the ML team and other teams (backend, data, product) and English-speaking stakeholders.
• Promote best practices in MLOps, documentation and team processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional experience in machine learning or AI engineering.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong foundations in ML and hands-on experience with ML systems in production.
• Ability to turn business needs into technical plans and explain trade-offs clearly.
• Advanced written and spoken English, as you will work directly with English-speaking stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and MLOps tooling.
• Experience hiring or building ML teams.
• Interest in following the latest ML and AI research.
