Tax Senior Associate – Record to Report

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join its Record to Report (R2R) function in Montevideo. The role will support tax accounting, reporting, and compliance activities, working closely with business teams and external tax advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise tax accounting tasks, including posting journal entries for accruals, provisions, re‑classifications and true‑ups.
• Perform and review tax balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve open items.
• Support monthly, quarterly and year‑end close activities related to tax reporting.
• Coordinate with business units, Shared Services and external advisors to gather inputs and clarify tax accounting matters.
• Assist in the review and validation of tax filings, statutory reports and documentation prepared by third parties.
• Participate in tax audits and respond to internal/external audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, KPIs and service‑level agreements.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• 4 to 7 years of experience in tax, accounting or finance.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Ability to work on‑site two days a week (hybrid model) with shift timings 9:00‑18:00.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
