Staff Engineer, Platform & Infrastructure

About the role

Nango is looking for a Staff Engineer to own and scale the cloud platform that powers its open‑source API integration product. This remote position will drive the design, reliability, and security of the infrastructure used by both Nango and its enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale compute, networking, and data layers on AWS (and multi‑cloud environments).
• Lead BYOC (bring‑your‑own‑cloud) initiatives, turning custom deployments into a repeatable product with provisioning, upgrades, and observability.
• Productize IaC and GitOps workflows to enable rapid, reliable shipping by a small team.
• Define and enforce reliability targets (SLOs) and manage incident response processes.
• Own the data stack – PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse – ensuring performance and scalability.
• Implement security and compliance measures (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, enterprise reviews).
• Contribute to roadmap and strategic decisions with high ownership.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles at staff level.
• Deep production experience with Kubernetes and strong judgment on its use.
• Proven ability to operate software in BYOC, single‑tenant, on‑prem, or air‑gapped environments.
• Extensive AWS expertise; familiarity with GCP and Azure is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, multi‑account topologies, and safe state management.
• Strong background with PostgreSQL (performance tuning, migrations, replication).
• Direct exposure to compliance audits (SOC 2, ISO) and security reviews.
• Product mindset, developer empathy, and excellent remote communication skills.
