Staff Backend Engineer – Remote

About the role

Nango is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and scaling of its backend platform. You will work remotely with a high‑performing team to build APIs, SDKs, and services that power integrations for thousands of developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services for an open‑source platform.
• Build developer‑focused interfaces, including APIs, SDKs, and runtime components.
• Collaborate directly with customers to solve integration challenges.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of high‑traffic services.
• Shape product roadmap and company strategy through technical ownership.
• Engage with the open‑source community and maintain the public repository.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level or 10+ years of staff‑level backend engineering experience.
• Proven ability to scale high‑traffic systems.
• Strong product mindset with empathy for developer experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first environment.
