Senior Software Engineer – Control Plane & Orchestration (Remote – Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in control‑plane and orchestration technologies to join a U.S. client’s remote development team. You will work closely with designers and engineers to build large‑scale, cloud‑native platforms that power distributed infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly available backend services and platform APIs used by multiple internal and external teams.
• Build event‑driven and message‑driven architectures with strong emphasis on reliability, idempotency, and versioning.
• Implement and operate multi‑tenant Kubernetes environments, including Operators, Controllers, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
• Deploy and run cloud‑native applications in production, ensuring observability through metrics, logging, tracing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to define fault‑tolerance, recovery, and consistency models.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and apply GitOps deployment methodologies.
• Work on air‑gapped or highly regulated Kubernetes setups, service‑mesh integrations, and multi‑cluster deployments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on control‑plane and orchestration.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven track record designing large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, multi‑tenant environments, and cloud‑native production workloads.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous workflows, distributed coordination, and storage solutions (object, file, block, container).
