Senior Integration & Backend Engineer - Incident Management Platform

About the role

Coderio is looking for a Senior Integration & Backend Engineer to design and deliver its new centralized Incident Management Platform (Vantage). The role focuses strictly on system and backend integrations, connecting operational tools, alerting systems, Jira and LLM-powered AI agents into the cloud infrastructure to streamline incident investigation, tracking and operational automation. The contract starts at 3 months and can be extended to 6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain production-grade API and webhook integrations between alerting systems, Jira Cloud/JSM and internal services and downstream event pipelines.
• Implement Jira AI-agent integrations with tool calling, structured outputs, auditable write-backs and human-in-the-loop approval workflows.
• Build resilient event ingestion services into cloud object storage (AWS S3) and internal endpoints, with idempotency, rate limiting and failure handling.
• Design bidirectional automations and custom webhook listeners with Jira Service Management (JSM) to trigger actions, update tickets and keep full audit logs.
• Own integration testing suites, failure recovery and retry mechanisms, and operational runbooks for a smooth handover to internal operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years in Backend Software Engineering or Systems Integration Engineering, with a proven track record of production-grade integrations and distributed services.
• Demonstrable experience building integrations with Jira Cloud / Jira Service Management REST APIs, webhooks and automation rules.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs/AI agents into real workflows, including tool/function calling, human-in-the-loop validation and audit logging.
• Hands-on experience with core AWS services, mainly S3, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway and CloudWatch.
• Strong background in Git, CI/CD automation, Docker, automated testing (unit, contract and integration tests) and operational documentation.
• Advanced professional English, written and spoken, to work with globally distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Messaging patterns, event brokers or queues (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kafka).
• SRE/incident response metrics (MTTR, MTTD) and observability tools (Datadog, PagerDuty).
• Secure API design, audit trails and PII/PCI compliance in regulated environments.
• Fintech, payment platforms or high-availability distributed systems background.
