Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Specialized is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering Team. Reporting to the Data and Analytics Team, you will translate business analytics needs into reliable, high‑performance data pipelines that power reporting and deeper analysis across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines from the ground up.
• Expand and optimize the company’s data warehouse and data pipelines using the modern ELT stack.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Support existing data systems and ensure high availability and performance.
• Enable technical and non‑technical users to create their own analytics and reports.

Required profile

• Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for both written and verbal interaction with internal customers.
• Experience working with unstructured data and a passion for complex data sets.

Required skills

• Design and development of reliable ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Expertise in SQL and enterprise‑level RDBMS.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data processing.
• Understanding of data models and data‑warehouse concepts.
• Experience with cloud‑based data stack (AWS, Snowflake, Matillion).
• Visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
