Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

About the role

Avicado is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to own and evolve its data and reporting infrastructure. You will be the single point of responsibility for cloud pipelines, dashboards, and data quality, enabling leadership to make data‑driven decisions across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Avicado’s GCP environment (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage) in partnership with IT.
• Develop and maintain Python‑based ETL scripts that ingest data from Toggl, Rippling, Xero, Salesforce and other sources into BigQuery.
• Architect and expand the pipeline portfolio to bring new data sources online, unlocking previously unavailable reporting capabilities.
• Automate operational workflows, including data quality checks, scheduled exports, and replacement of ad‑hoc scripts with reliable GCP functions.
• Manage version control and change tracking using GitHub.
• Own the end‑to‑end dashboard portfolio for Operations, Finance, People & Talent, and Sales teams, translating business logic into actionable visualisations.

• Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams and driving impact.
• Enjoys a fast‑changing environment and can lead through ambiguity.

Required skills

• Python programming for ETL development.
• Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage.
• Version control with GitHub.
• Experience integrating data from Toggl, Rippling, Xero, Salesforce.
• Data pipeline architecture and automation.
