Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead – 3‑4 month Remote Role

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead to join a U.S. client’s team on a 3‑4 month remote contract. You will work closely with designers and engineers, driving architecture decisions and delivering high‑performance backend solutions for mobile‑focused e‑commerce platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) services and API middleware.
• Collaborate daily with the client’s product, design, and engineering teams.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, micro‑service patterns, and event‑driven workflows.
• Guide the team through technical challenges and contribute to shared libraries.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable deployments on AWS.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role influencing architecture.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and take extreme ownership.

Required skills

• Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS services: EC2, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront.
• MongoDB and backend deployment pipeline optimization.
• Salesforce OCAPI/API, CMS‑driven content management, mobile third‑party integrations.
• Design and security of scalable micro‑services and event‑driven architectures.
• AI development tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• CI/CD, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
