About the role

Optery helps people retrieve personal data from broker sites. The company is fully remote, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer based in Latin America to work directly with the founders on product and technical direction.

Key responsibilities

Develop new features for the Django‑based APIs powering the consumer dashboard and B2B platform.
Improve performance and reliability of Celery and RabbitMQ pipelines.
Integrate third‑party services such as Stripe and WorkOS SSO.
Conduct code reviews and collaborate with a small senior backend team.

Required profile

6+ years building production web applications.
3+ years of experience with Python and Django.
Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, SQL and system design.
Excellent written communication and ability to work async across time zones.

Django (including DRF or django‑ninja)
Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis
PostgreSQL (tuning and query analysis)
Kubernetes and AWS
Stripe, identity‑provider APIs (WorkOS SSO)
HTMX and/or React
