Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. The role is client‑facing and demands ownership of month‑end closes, balance‑sheet reconciliation and high‑quality financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate P&L and Balance Sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation as client volume increases.
• Manage journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Integrate hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data and improve workflow efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and provide clear communication to client stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, full‑cycle accounting, journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems such as Opera, Sertifi or Toast is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
