Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. The role is client‑facing and focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end closes, and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing P&L and Balance Sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation as client volume increases.
• Manage journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Utilize hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data and improve workflow efficiency.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls while delivering high‑quality service to client stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle account reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
