Remote Bookkeeper – Vacation Rental Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who specializes in the vacation‑rental sector. You will handle hotel‑style accounting, daily transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting while supporting senior leadership in financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Record and manage daily financial transactions for short‑term rental properties.
• Perform bank, credit‑card, and vendor reconciliations.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and statements.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide accurate financial insights.
• Utilize accounting platforms such as SAGE, QuickBooks, and Excel; optionally work with Bill.com or Ramp.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years bookkeeping or accounting experience in short‑term rentals or hotel accounting.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and proactive mindset.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently as a contractor and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Availability during 9 AM–5 PM EST.
