Part-Time Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to support our occupational therapy team in delivering resident‑focused care. The OTA will work closely with the supervising Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans and promote independence in activities of daily living.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with therapeutic activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Document resident care accurately and timely in compliance with facility, governmental and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection‑control, safety and equipment‑maintenance protocols.
• Participate in resident‑care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Provide training and in‑service education to nursing staff, restorative aides and other team members.
• Educate residents, families and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, safety techniques and fall‑prevention strategies.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment such as adaptive devices, splints, grab bars and elevated toilet seats.
• Report equipment issues and contribute to quality‑assurance and performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Current state license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in good standing.
• Compliance with continuing‑education requirements and CPR certification if required.
• Ability to read technical procedures, policies and present information to staff and families.
• Strong problem‑solving and reasoning abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Net Health data‑entry system.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care software.
