About the role

SAAM Towage Uruguay is seeking a qualified Marine Machine Operator to ensure the proper operation and upkeep of machinery on its tugboats. The role involves daily maintenance, compliance with safety and environmental standards, and close collaboration with the ship’s captain and chief engineer.

Key responsibilities

Execute operational instructions from the Captain and Chief Engineer, adhering to company procedures and safety standards.
Perform daily maintenance of tugboat engines, generators, and related equipment according to defined plans.
Support shore‑based maintenance teams and assist with any additional tasks required by supervision.
Monitor and enforce marine pollution prevention measures and SYSO guidelines.

Required profile

Valid Marine Machine Seaman certificate and current seafarer’s book.
Current OMI safety courses (1.13, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21).
At least 2 years of experience on offshore tugboats.
Willingness to work in Montevideo, Uruguay.
