Manual QA Engineer – Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer focused on compliance to ensure product quality and regulatory accuracy throughout the mortgage lifecycle, from application to closing. The role validates business logic, calculations and compliance requirements rather than just system behavior. You will work closely with Compliance, Product, Development and QA teams to deliver risk‑based test coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Validate end‑to‑end mortgage workflows (application → closing) for compliance and business accuracy.
• Review test scenarios to ensure alignment with regulatory rules and lender requirements.
• Define and verify expected outputs such as disclosures, fees, APR/APOR, escrow, mortgage insurance and core mortgage calculations.
• Partner with Compliance, Product, Development and QA teams to guarantee risk‑based test coverage.
• Identify gaps in regression and automation coverage related to mortgage logic and rules.
• Demonstrate new features and fixes to Compliance, Customer or Product teams.
• Guide test data strategy, including edge cases, state‑specific regulations and investor‑specific scenarios.
• Ensure coverage of high‑risk, compliance‑sensitive workflows.
• Create high‑quality test cases ready for automation handoff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the mortgage domain, including loan lifecycle, disclosures, calculations and compliance rules.
• Experience validating financial calculations and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to assess business correctness beyond functional results.
• Proven experience working with cross‑functional teams such as Compliance, Product and QA.
• High attention to detail in document‑heavy environments.
• Interest in learning automation with AI tooling.

Required skills

• Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
