Global Controller

About the role

SunnyData is seeking a Global Controller to own the accounting backbone of its fast‑scaling, multi‑entity, multi‑country services business. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Finance, you will lead the global close, consolidation, and internal controls for the US parent and subsidiaries in Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and Nepal.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly close and consolidation across all entities, including intercompany eliminations and multi‑currency revaluation.
• Design and operate scalable internal controls for sales‑to‑cash and procure‑to‑pay cycles.
• Maintain intercompany billing, financing, and cost‑allocation in line with the transfer‑pricing framework.
• Oversee external audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance in each jurisdiction.
• Support cash‑flow reporting, FX exposure, and working‑capital management.
• Lead long‑term financial planning, budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
• Manage and develop the Accounting Manager in Uruguay and coordinate third‑party accounting partners.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, with recent experience owning close and consolidation for a multi‑entity organization.
• Contador Público degree from an accredited university.
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Hands‑on experience in a professional services or technology consulting environment.
• Proven track record of building or significantly improving accounting processes.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of IFRS and Uruguayan local reporting standards.
• Hands‑on experience with US GAAP reporting and consolidation.
• Multi‑currency reporting and intercompany transaction handling.
• Transfer‑pricing documentation and intercompany financing structures.
• Audit management and tax compliance coordination across jurisdictions.
• ERP implementation or migration experience.
• Purchase price allocation and acquisition integration basics.
