General Manager – Paraguay & Uruguay

About the role

The General Manager for Paraguay & Uruguay will lead all business operations for the CMA CGM Group in these two markets, based in Montevideo and travelling regularly to Paraguay. Reporting to the Cluster Manager in Argentina, the role drives strategic initiatives, ensures operational excellence and delivers growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the organisation in Paraguay and Uruguay.
• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve growth and company objectives.
• Oversee daily operations across sales, marketing, finance and human resources.
• Foster a positive, inclusive culture that promotes employee engagement and development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in shipping, transport or logistics.
• Proven track record of leading diverse teams and achieving business results.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, professionalism and ability to adapt in a fast‑changing environment.
