Financial Controller – Remote (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own our accounting operations and financial reporting while transitioning from an outsourced model to a fully in‑house finance function. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage the General Ledger, supervise bookkeeping, and ensure timely, accurate financial information for executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the General Ledger, maintain the Chart of Accounts, and ensure compliance.
• Lead the transition from outsourced accounting to an internal finance team.
• Manage month‑end close activities, reconciliations, and prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, review invoices, payroll, expense reports, and vendor payments.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and coordinate payroll tax, sales tax, and year‑end tax reporting.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial records and company information.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant with full GL ownership.
• Strong background in month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks and supervising bookkeeping teams.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and tax compliance.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
